Allie Jeanette Moore

Allie Jeanette Moore passed away peacefully in her sleep in Tallahassee, Florida on May 9, 2021. She was born in Bell Buckle, Tennessee on August 22, 1936 to Henry Palmer Smithson and Cora Thankful (Gaither) Smithson, she was the third of three children and grew up in Bell Buckle and Nashville Tennessee. In 1987 she moved to Tallahassee from Texas to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and lived an active and fulfilling life. Jeanette was a faithful member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, Florida for more than twenty years and an enthusiastic volunteer. For twenty-three years she coordinated the monthly “Lunch Bunch” luncheons attended and enjoyed by the members of her church. Jeanette enjoyed life, spending time with family and friends, fancy tea parties, travelling and bird watching. She was always there to brighten the lives of everyone who knew her and had a determined spirit encouraging her family and friends to persevere in the face of life’s struggles. Jeanette is preceded in death by her loving husband Howard W. Moore. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Teresa A. Dozier (Richard) of Tallahassee, Florida, James H. McElvian (Gloria) of Spring Hill, Florida, Brenda L. Pratt (Hal Blanton) of Tallahassee, Florida; three grandchildren Mark A. Roberts (Jessie), Ryan H. Dozier (Elisabeth) and Shannon L. Pratt-Reeve (Will); five great grandchildren; Anna V. Dozier, Elijah J. Dozier, Josiah J. Dozier, Dorothy A. Roberts, Austin L. Pratt and Mariah D. Reeve. Jeanette is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned.
