Constance "Connie" P. Clark

Constance Patricia Clark (Cooksey), known to her loved ones as Connie, departed from this life on February 2, 2024, in Tallahassee, FL, at the age of 75. Born on November 14, 1948, in Thomasville, GA, she was a woman of strength, love, and unwavering conviction. Connie’s life was characterized by her devotion to her family. She was a beacon of affection for her grandchildren, and a source of love and support for her friends and family. She led a life that was a reflection of her beliefs, always staying true to herself and her values. Throughout her career, Connie served with honor, dedication and professionalism working in various state offices and agencies including the Govenor's office and the FSU College of Law. She was an accomplished typist, recognized for her skill by placing in various speed typing competitions. After retiring from an office career, her nurturing spirit and love of children inspired her to open an in home daycare, providing a warm and loving environment for the young ones in her charge. Connie's creative spirit found joy and a deep sense of personal satisfaction through various interests and hobbies including sewing, painting, quilting, knitting, and a myriad of other diverse crafts. Her love of music was infectious. Her spontaneous singing, as well as her preformances in bands and choruses brought warmth to many hearts. Additionally, her involvement in billiards tournaments and participation in bowling leagues demonstrated her outgoing and social nature. Connie also cherished the worlds of fiction she discovered through books and film, indulging in the stories that captivated her imagination. Connie is survived by a family who loved her. Children Richard (Rachel) Berry, Heather (Alan) Berry-McCleery, and Matthew (Amanda) Clark. Grandchildren Jacob and Lydia Clark, Garrett Berry, Vivian and Evangeline McCleery; Siblings Cathy Barker and Susan (Cal) Jamison; Neices Susan and Rachael and her favorite nephew Wade. Her mother, Vivian H Shears (Kinsey), preceded her in death The arrangements for a service to honor Connie’s life will be forthcoming, as her family wishes to celebrate her memory in a manner befitting the remarkable woman she was.
