Alan Dale Brown

Alan “Dale” Brown, 55, of Crawfordville, Florida died unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, September 1, 2019. He was born April 14, 1964 in Arcadia, FL, to William H, Sr. and Mary K Brown, where he grew up surrounded by his brother and two sisters, great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He loved to laugh at his siblings for getting scolded for things he did. His childhood nickname was “Pooster” and he was quite mischievous. Later as an adult, you could hear many friends refer to him as “Kool-aid”. He was still mischievous at times as an adult. But he always had a laugh. As a young adult, Dale was still a bit of a rambler, but you count on him to be at Granny and Papas in Nocatee, FL for Sunday dinner. He loved his family. Dale eventually moved to Tallahassee, FL where his sister lived with her family. He watched his niece grow from a baby to a young woman with her own family. He was always happy to see his great niece and great nephew when they came over. He would always tease them by saying “Hey there Knuckle-Head.” It was a special greeting between them that both kids will miss dearly He made his home in Wakulla county where he spent many years working in the construction industry and roofing. He contributed to many beautiful houses built on the coast with his friend and employer, Brent Dixon. After Hurricane Katrina, Dale moved to Louisiana and worked to rebuild and build new houses. On a trip home to see his sister, he ended up taking with him a beautiful, spoiled dog that loved him unconditionally, and he loved her. Coco was a very special part of his life. Any decision he made had to consider CoCo. Sadly, Coco passed away only months before Dale. Eventually, he came home to stay. Dale took care of his sister Ninfa who was disabled due to many heart problems. As Dale’s health deteriorated, they took to taking care of each other. Dale was preceded in death by his parents William Sr. and Mary Brown, one sister and one brother. He is survived by his sister, Ninfa Brown Ezell, niece, Jamie (Michael) Scarbrough, great-niece, Mikayla Scarbrough, great-nephew, Mikayden Scarbrough, all of Crawfordville, FL (Wakulla); cousins Rodney Ray Morgan, Karen Beard-Wilson, King Beard, JudyAnn Schaefer (Jackie), Sheila Moran, Matt Brown (Kathy), and Angelia(Angie) Brown Anderson, and a host of second and third cousins. Dale is also survived by a very special friend, Theresa Williams of Panacea (Wakulla), FL. Dale held a very special place in his heart for Theresa. Dale is survived by a host of dear friends from Arcadia, FL to Slidell, LA, and back to Tallahassee and Panacea, FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Arcadia, FL.
