Allen Lee Freeland

Allen Lee Freeland, 75, of Tallahassee departed this life unexpectedly on September 2, 2022. Allen was born June 7, 1947, in Urbana, Illinois, to Warren Allen Freeland and Dorothy Ruth (Taylor) Freeland, both preceding him in death. Following his graduation from Eastern Illinois University in 1969, he moved to Tallahassee to continue his career with Olin Corporation, now known as St. Marks Powder, General Dynamics (GD) Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS). Allen served as a Co-op while in college and then continued at St. Marks Powder for more than 50 years. Allen had a love for animals, working in the yard, tinkering around the house and FSU football, but most of all his family meant everything to him. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time and having fun with his family. He is survived by his wife, Angie Freeland; two children, Anna King Mitas (husband Josh), Tallahassee, Florida, and Thomas Freeland (wife Kristin), Maui, Hawaii; grandchildren, Caroline King, and Davis King; siblings, Donovan Freeland (wife Kate), Batesville, Illinois, Shirley Isenberg (husband Jim), St Johns, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins he loved dearly. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His family is honoring his wishes with a Celebration of Life at 3:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022, at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road, Tallahassee, FL.
