Brandon Neal Smith

Brandon Neal Smith, 24 of Tallahassee, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2021, in Pensacola, due to injuries sustained in an accident, just four days prior to what would have been his 25th birthday. Brandon was born on September 30, 1996, in New Bern, North Carolina to Neal Duncan Smith and Lisa Berry Smith. When he was 15, he moved to Tallahassee with his family and graduated from Chiles High School in 2015. Brandon completed college degrees at Tallahassee Community College and University of West Florida (UWF) and was preparing to begin Graduate School in the spring. Brandon maintained a high level of fitness as he ran cross country, 6-8 miles on a regular basis. He lived life to its fullest, loved music, was a huge college football fan and loved going to games at the University of South Carolina and Florida State University. He also enjoyed traveling to new places. In addition to all of the southeastern states, he traveled to the northeast up to Maine, to the midwest and western states including Nevada, Arizona and California. Survivors include his parents, Neal and Lisa Smith of Tallahassee; sister, Kimberly Paige Smith of Tallahassee; maternal grandmother, Jo Griffin (Joe) of Las Vegas, NV; aunts, Dana Mathews of Mount Airy, MD, Elisabeth Smith (Jimmy) and Miriam Davis (Allen) of Fernandina Beach, FL; uncle, Bruce Smith of Fernandina Beach, FL and cousins, Alec, Morgan and Mitchell Mathews; Angelique Hayes, Ashley Brown, Aimee Kirday, Bryant Davis, Leila Saunders and Casey Smith. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Chesley Wells Berry; paternal grandparents, Hoyt and Mary Duncan Smith and cousin, Brad Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road in Tallahassee. The funeral will be at 1:00PM on Friday, October 8, 2021, at City Church, 3215 Sessions Road in Tallahassee. The interment will follow at MeadowWood Memorial Park.
