Christopher Anthony Breeze

Christopher Anthony Breeze, 35, loving father, builder, handyman, and friend to all, died on November 17, 2012. Chris was born in Rockledge, Florida, and had lived in the Big Bend area since 1984. Chris is survived by his partner, Michele Walker; daughters Sancia and Isabell; Artemis Dove, mother of Chris’s daughters; best friend, John Desrosiers; close family friend, Terra Reed; parents Jay and Carol; and grandparents Norman and Mary. Chris was happiest when working outdoors on building projects. In his free time, he enjoyed kayaking local rivers and springs, sharing a love of nature with his family and many friends. Chris also loved taking in the local music scene at the Warehouse and other venues. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of local bands and counted many local musicians among his friends. Best friend John Desrosiers, described Chris in these terms: “Chris was the most generous person I knew. He always put the needs of his loved ones and friends before his own. He had a keen sense of adventure; a gentle, kind nature; and a delightful sense of humor.” Chris’s life was motivated by a desire to do the right thing, no matter what the cost. It was totally in character that the last act of his life was intervening to protect a stranger whose life was in danger. Chris’s family extends an invitation to all to attend a potluck memorial gathering commemorating his life on December 15 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Bringing a covered dish is optional.
