Danny L. Brewer

Danny L. Brewer, passed away on Thursday April 7, 2016 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida, with Marlene at his side. Danny was born on August 28, 1950 in Georgia, was raised in Ft. Pierce, Florida and he met and married Marlene in West Palm Beach, Florida where they resided until moving to Tallahassee, Florida in 1994. Danny worked for the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Division of Emergency Management for 21 years before having to retire in August, 2015 due to health issues. Prior to relocating to Tallahassee, Danny was with Gee & Jenson Engineers-Architects-Planner, Inc., in West Palm Beach for many years. Danny is survived by his wife and best friend, Marlene M. Brewer, his beloved niece Raquel Brown (Richard) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Betty and Bruce Treadwell of Esto, Florida (formerly of West Palm Beach, Florida) and the Hofmann families, his brothers-in-law, Bruce, Bobby, and Richard, numerous nieces and nephews from both Danny and Marlene’s families, Joddy and Mary Long of Rising Fawn, Georgia, Katharine Gossman and Pat Simmons of Tallahassee, Florida, the Seekers Sunday School Class of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Tallahassee, Florida, his beloved puppies, Emmi, Chloe, and Holly and cats, Barney, Missy, Woody, Grace, and Tabby. Danny was predeceased by his siblings, Johnny and Lola. There will be a Memorial Service for Danny on Thursday April 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church (the church on Lake Ella) in Tallahassee, Florida. Marlene wishes to thank Danny’s employer, the Division of Emergency Management and Marlene’s employer, Robert D. Mendelson, Esq. (Cyndi) and co-worker, Kitty Carson, for their support and understanding and their willingness to accommodate Marlene and Danny during this difficult time. Thank you to Big Bend Hospice (Drs. Nancy V. Chorba and Joseph C. Dorn; the dedicated and caring nurses, support staff, pet therapy, music therapy); Danny’s physicians and their staff/nurses through the years of his chronic illnesses; and our neighbors in Settler Springs for their help and support. Danny was a very special person, a humble man and a silent servant that loved the Lord and Marlene.
