Danny J. Thomas

Danny J. Thomas, 63, of Lake Seminole, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 9, 2024, while doing one of the things he loved most—canoeing and camping along the Suwannee River. Danny was born on July 31, 1961, in Germany, where his father was stationed in the military. As the child of a service member, Danny moved frequently during his childhood. Eventually, he settled in Tallahassee in 1990, a place he considered home until making his dream of living on Lake Seminole a reality. Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Lynn Taylor Thomas; his three children, Amanda Grace Crouch, William Kyle Curry (Jenilee), and Tyler Paul Thomas; and his three grandchildren, Aidan Bradley Crouch, Grayson Carter Crouch, and Kinsley June Curry, as well as his mother-in-love, who he considered his own, Ann Taylor. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Johnson Thomas; father, James R. Thomas; father-in-law, Harry W. Taylor; sister, Patricia Thomas; and brother, James R. Thomas, Jr. After retiring from AT&T (f/k/a BellSouth) in 2019 as a Business Development Manager, Danny embraced his passions fully. A devoted outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, motorcycling and gardening. He also loved cooking, history and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Danny’s love for his family and friends was even more fierce than his enthusiasm for his hobbies. He was always eager to share his adventures with those he loved. Danny's family and friends will forever remember him for his boundless energy, loving nature, and the adventures he loved to share. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, love, and countless memories.
