Delores Mitchell Hall

Delores Mitchell Hall was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1955, to the parents of Emma Jean Mitchell and Ernest Anderson. Delores, affectionally known as “Lois” was little in statute but tall in personality. Delores was educated in the Leon County School System; she loved school and therefore, loved “learning.” She participated in Spelling Bee Contests; calculating number was easy for her. Delores met Elver Del Hall, and after a period of dating they married on February 15, 1974; to their union Derek Lashon and Jamie Antonio Hall was born. After working with the State of Florida for more than 30 years, Delores retired. She followed her passion and returned to school, pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. Her dream was to become and educator in the school system, move on to being a counselor in the school system and then one day become a psychologist. Delores accepted the Lord at a young age; she was raised in Anderson Chapel but later joined Dade Street Church of God of Prophecy (Tallahassee). She served in the capacity of Care Group Leader, Choir President, Sunday School Teacher, Teens for the Kingdom Step Team Director and Pastor Booster, respectively. Delores loved people but was an advocate for children; the members of Teens for the Kingdom were her “other babies.” She was faithful in her duties, dependable, encouraging and a joy to be with. Delores loved the Lord with her whole heart; she enjoyed her time of devotion with Him. She also loved her family and was devoted to each of them. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a true confidant and loyal friend; at the end of your conversation with her, you felt like you could conquer the world. In the last years of her life, she had many challenges, but she didn’t allow anything to change what God put in her on this earth to be. She remained faithful to her calling (talking to and encouraging people) and she remained faithful to her God, loving and trusting Him to the very end. She is now indeed resting in her Master’s Arms. Delores leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Derek (Carolyn) Hall; daughter-in-law, Nina Gunn-Hall; grandchildren, Haley, Kayla, Ashleigh, Michael (Emily), Jamie, Taylor, Joshua; great-grandchildren, Aamir, Khalil, Jamie Wayne, Wesley Rivers; brothers, Reginald, Stacey (Lisa), Donald, and sisters, Jacquelyn and Rebecca; God-children, Stephanie Weems, Sheena Green and Trevor Cooper; nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted mother, Mrs. Betty Carey, long-time friend, Theodora Knowles, and numerous friends.
