Dorothy "Dottie" Patricia Kellow

Dorothy, 79 died August 8, 2024, in Tallahassee. Dorothy (Dottie) was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 8, 1945, to William and Marion Wood. She was raised in Brighton, Michigan by Lowell and Marion Heideman. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1963. Dorothy was married to Earl Kellow for 60 years and raised three children, Kimberly, Denise, and Eric. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Dorothy leaves a legacy of strong faith in God, and love of her family. Dorothy was a member of East Hill Baptist Church. She worked various jobs at the church, including 11 years as Wednesday Night Supper Cook/Director, and a number of years as the Senior Pastor’s Secretary. She was a true servant of the Lord and genuinely loved taking care of and helping other people. Dorothy was a caregiver for both her Grandfather and Father-in-Law until their passing. Besides serving at church, she loved cooking, and collecting Hummel, mouse and chicken figurines. She enjoyed flowers for her back porch and yard, watching the Hallmark Channel, and she was beloved by many. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter Denise Kellow-Walsh. She is survived by her husband, Earl Kellow, daughter Kimberly Barlowe (Doug), son Eric Kellow, Granddaughters Madeline Walsh, Sydney Barlowe, Kemira Barlowe, and Shauna Barlowe, all of Tallahassee, FL, and Grandson Daniel Barlowe (Sarah), Sellersburg, IN, and Friend-in-Law, Dell Barlowe, Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by her brother Larry Wood (Linda), Wixom MI, sister Linda Potter (Ray), Brighton, MI, sister Gayle Heideman (Ken), Tallahassee, FL, sisters-in-law Andrea Henderson (Randy), Morris, GA and Dorothy “Lisa” Krips (Thomas), Plantation, FL, and brother-in-law, Robert Kellow. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and five Great Granddaughters. Memorial contributions may be made to East Hill Baptist Church, Tallahassee. The Visitation will be held on August 13 at 9:30am, at East Hill Baptist Church, 912 Miccosukee Rd., in Tallahassee, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30am. A Reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Graveside Services will be held at MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Rd., in Tallahassee.
