Esther Till Rudd Nease

Esther Till Rudd Nease is finally home. She left this life for her eternal home on May 3, 2016. Esther was born on December 30,1929 in Tallahassee, Florida, the youngest child of her parents Reverend Jacob and Minnie Lee Till. While growing up she lived in various parts of Florida as her father pastored several churches, but mostly in Tallahassee where she graduated from Leon High School in 1947. After they met in church, she was married to Herbert Rudd on February 6, 1948. Esther and Herbert were married for 39 years until his death in 1987. Esther was the loving mother of their three children – Linda Sproull (Jim) of Atlanta, GA; Dr. Eugene Rudd (Gay) of Bristol, TN and Donna Rudd, of Greenville, SC. In addition to her being a wonderful, loving wife, mother and friend, Esther was successful in business retiring from Roane Barker Medical Supply in Greenville, SC. In 2003, 16 years after Herbert’s death, she was blessed to marry Jesse Nease, who later preceded her in death. After Jesse’s death, Esther moved to Bristol, TN to live with Gene and his family, enjoying the time with her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Esther committed her life to Jesus Christ at an early age, was a faithful follower of her Lord on this earth and now stands in the Lord’s presence. Esther was affectionately known as “Big Mama” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, “Mom” to her children and friend to all who knew her. Always looking for opportunities to help and encourage others, she leaves a legacy of caring, compassion, generosity, joy and service as a treasured memory and example to all who knew her. Esther was a woman of prayer who had a great faith, trusting in God’s amazing grace. She will be greatly missed, but as a believer in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she knew that because He lives we do not say good-bye, but see you later Big Mama! A celebration of Esther’s life will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 with receiving of family and friends at 10am and service at 11am at Bevis Funeral Home, 2710 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303.
