Ethel W. Eubanks

Ethel W. Eubanks, 97, departed to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by family members at Community Hospice, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida on December 6, 2015. She was born September 14, 1918 to Henry Houston and Anna Louise Williams in River Junction, Florida. Ethel resided in Tallahassee, Florida and was a long time member of Maranatha Baptist Church (currently Grace Point) where she taught Sunday school for 46 years to 2 and 3 year olds. During her service in this capacity, Ethel taught several generations of member families. She was also part of the church choir and enjoyed singing and participating in musical programs. Her passions in life included her service to Christ, her love of family, and gardening. Ethel was a kind, gentle soul that was always willing to help anyone and always considered others before herself. Outside of church, her greatest pleasure was spending time with family. Ethel retired from Sears after 36 years where she served as a department manager. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John N. Eubanks Sr. (9/18/66), a daughter, Patricia Eubanks Zimmerman (3/27/03) and siblings Wayne Lockland, Dot Smith, Lettie Esserman, Houston Williams and Frances Meredith. She is survived by a sister Sue Brantley, son John N. Eubanks Jr. (Pat Cox Eubanks), daughter Linda Eubanks Stoutamire (Richard Stoutamire); grandchildren Lou Eubanks Rymsza, Debra Eubanks Benninghoff, John W. Eubanks, J. Tommy Aldridge, James W. Eubanks, David M. Aldridge, W. Brian Wells, Gina Aldridge Mathis, Melissa Wells; great grandchildren Mandy Pagano, Kate Mann, Michael Shinholser, John Aldridge, Laurel Mathis, Robbie Rymsza, Cody Zajdel, Tyler Wells, Ally Zajdel, AJ Wells, Justin Schofield, Elizabeth DePottey, Michael DePottey; great, great grandchildren Joshua Pagano, Evan Shinholser, Lara Pagano and Lily Shinholser. Services will be conducted at Bevis Funeral Home, Tallahassee, Florida on Sunday, December 13, 2015 beginning with visitation at 1:30 followed by a 2:30 service. Interment will immediately follow services at Roselawn cemetery on Piedmont Drive, Tallahassee, Florida. Susie Mozolic of Bevis Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
