Frances "Susie" Bell

Frances “Susie” Bell, 92, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully during the morning hours of March 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Susie was surrounded by family and loved ones in her final hours, a testament to a life filled with deep connections and love. Susie was born on May 11, 1932, in Terre Haute, Indiana and later moved to San Diego, California and Houston, Texas before settling in Tallahassee, Florida during her high school years. Susie spent over 50 years working with Dr. A J Henry and Dr. C. B. Harvey as an office administrator. Susie was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Bremer Moore and Oliver Wise, stepfather Hubert Moore and stepmother Frances Wise Whittington. Susie was deeply loved by each of them and carried their influence throughout her life. Blessed with a large and loving family, Susie was proceeded in death by her eldest son David Erric Bell, sister Jocelyn Wise Jordan and brothers Brian Wise and James Moore. Susie is survived by her son, Richard William Bell and wife, Shelly, of Tallahassee; son, Robert Dale Bell and wife Sandy, of Pace; daughter, Rebecca Leigh Adams and husband Bill of Tallahassee; and brother-in-law Dr. Cesar Jordan of Puerto Rico. Susie, affectionally called Meemaw, will be greatly missed by her grandchildren David Bell (Kerri), Whitney Bell, Riley Bell (Jenna), Parker Bell, Taylor Bell, Tyler Bell, Tanner Bell, Brooke Adams-Williams (Kenny) and Brittany Adams (Tyler Hubbell). She was also blessed to celebrate her life with her great-grandchildren Savannah Bell, Delaney Bell, Farren and Riley William Bell, Layla Goram, Piper Williams and Harley Hubbell. A devoted aunt, she treasured time spent with her nieces and nephews who brought her endless joy. Susie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished spending time with her children, grandkids and great grandkids. She loved her First Baptist Church family, the Florida State Seminoles and spending time in her garden. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Though Susie is no longer with us, her love and wisdom live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 10th at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Tallahassee. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church and Big Bend Hospice in Susie’s memory.
