Frances Jean Green Price

Frances Green Price, 93, was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the evening on April 25, 2025. A native to Tallahassee, Florida, Frances was born on August 13, 1931, to Stephen and Madie Green. She graduated from Leon High School in 1949 and upon graduation worked as a secretary for Brinkley Brothers Real estate. During this time, she met her husband, Charles “Charlie” Delbert Price, Sr., to whom she was happily wed for 55 years before his passing in July of 2011. Frances was a stay-at-home-mother for 17 years before returning to work with Killearn Realty for over ten years and then retiring from the Florida Department of Health, Division of Pharmacy after a long career. She was a member of Bradfordville First Baptist Church for many years. During her youth, Frances was an excellent artist and loved to draw and cut out paper dolls for her and her siblings to play with. She was also a talented seamstress and enjoyed making her own clothes. Her husband, Charles, was an avid coin collector and was the President of the Florida United Numismatists and member of the American Numismatic Association. This hobby took Charles and Frances on road trips with their children and grandchildren in the summer months to coin conventions all over the country. Frances loved big band and classic gospel music and had a love for Florida State University Football and Dancing with the Stars. But above all, Frances’s true passion was loving her family. She showed her love by giving anything and everything she had if it meant she could meet a need. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, and she doted on them from the time they were born until she left this world. She never grew tired of learning about every detail of their lives, especially if she could help make it better. To say that she was devoted is an understatement. She will be missed immensely. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Madie Green, her husband Charles D. Price, Sr., her sisters Katherine Ervin (Red), Geneva Messer (Howell), her brothers Herbert (Elva), Curtis (Joan), and Terry Green. She is survived by her sister Sherry Taylor (Larry); her children Charles D. “Bert” Price (Amy); and Debra “Debbie” Wright (Bryan); her grandchildren Shawn Wright (Kaitlyn), Krista Lamb (Michael), Danielle Price; and Charles III; her great grandchildren, Ember and Lenna Lamb; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Oakland Cemetery, Tallahassee, FL.
