Guy Carl Resener

Guy Carl Resener, age 73, went home to his Lord and savior on Friday, August 26, 2022. He left peacefully in his home in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born in Weatherford, Texas to Carl and Retha Resener on November 29, 1948. Guy moved to Arlington, Texas after high school to attend the University of Texas. Professionally he traveled throughout the southwest as a District Manager for Whataburger corporate, eventually deciding to run his own stores and become a franchisee. This led him to Tallahassee, Florida in 1989. He operated four Whataburger restaurants while in Tallahassee. He was very passionate about his profession and ensuring that every customer left with a smile on their face as well as great quality fast food. He had an amazing heart for all his employees. Guy married the love of his life, Gaylynn in 1976. To Guy, his family meant everything! He encouraged and cared for everyone so deeply. He made it his mission to ensure they all had a relationship with the Lord. Guy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Tallahassee. Once he retired, he focused on raising his granddaughters. He was also an avid photographer, often the one responsible for documenting the family in pictures and videos. He loved playing board games and gardening with the family, he was an avid sports aficionado, and he loved his Dallas Cowboys and the Florida State Seminoles football and baseball. One of his greatest passions was golf. You could often find him out playing in great matches with a wonderful group of golf buddies at Golden Eagle Country Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gaylynn and his two sons, Jason Resener and Erik Fisher; his two daughter-in-laws, Jean Resener and Lea Ann Fisher and most importantly his 3 granddaughters: Maggie Resener, Aubrey Fisher, and Riley Fisher. Guy also leaves behind his brother, Gregg Resener (Lisa) as well as many extended family members whom he adored. Guy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Candy Templeton. The family will be receiving guests for a visitation at Bevis Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the Mayo Clinic.
