James "Matt" Matthew Feldt

James “Matt” Matthew Feldt age 66 of Tallahassee, FL, died Monday, July 4, 2022, at home. He was born September 21, 1955, in Tacoma, WA the son of Jerome and Elizabeth (Czizek) Feldt. He lived in Dubuque, IA; Stuttgart, Germany; Decatur, GA and attended schools in Richland Center, WI; Anneewakee Center, Douglasville, GA; and graduated salutatorian and Mr. Carrabelle High in Carrabelle, FL in 1974 where he was on the football and track teams. He worked for Millender & Sons Seafood Co. and operated his own oyster boat. Matt moved to Tallahassee where he played rugby and entered the building trades as a carpenter. He formed Mule Train Builders and built many beautiful structures for beloved friends and customers. He was proud of his skill and high standards and was eager to help. He married Beverly Schick in 1988 and then Debbie (Deb) Armenti in 1995. Matt had a strong independent spirit and loved the outdoors, hard work, golf, football and was an avid reader. He was fiercely loyal to his lifelong friends. Matt is survived by his family: siblings Thomas “Tony” Feldt his twin of Richland Center, WI Carolyn Feldt (Mark Boatwright) of Kenosha, WI and their children Timothy and David; Michael Feldt (Julie Hilleshiem) of Oak Creek, WI; Geraldine (Roy) Kanne of Raleigh, NC and their children Elizabeth and Matthew; and former spouses Beverly and Deb. He is further survived by several dear friends including JD Box (Amy) of Lynchburg VA, Jack Kania (Angela) and Katherine Fearington (Mercer) of Tallahassee FL and many others. He is preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of his life will be held at a place that was dear to Matt, the residence of Mercer and Katherine Fearington: 4997 Veterans Memorial Dr. Tallahassee on Sunday July 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
