Jean Louise Potts (Richlik), 88, passed from the loving arms of her family to heaven on Sunday Morning, February 11, in Tallahassee. Jean was born in Whiting, Indiana, to Sophie (Koby) and Carl Richlik on January 18, 1936. She was the youngest survivor of a lively sister trio, including Dorothy and Rosemary. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Tom, in 1954. Jean and Tom had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Jean was a homemaker who sought to pattern her life after Jesus’s mother, Mary. Jean loved shopping for a perfect gift for one of her ten grandchildren or six great-grandchildren. She enjoyed long phone conversations with friends and cherished updates and visits from family. She delighted in sewing for her growing family and home. She rarely missed a school or sports activity. Jean and Tom enjoyed a long, busy retirement exploring the USA in their RV. Her holiday celebrations were legendary. Before her illness, Jean was a very active member of the Good Shepherd community through WINGS and Sewing Circle. She was always ready with a plate of goodies or a supportive hug for a needy neighbor. Jean is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver, Tom, and four happily married children. Sherry Zampino (Tony), Dave Potts (Debbie), Charlene Wood (Jon) and Allison Wiman (Mark). The family will receive guests for a visitation at Bevis Funeral Home on Thursday, February 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A celebratory mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Friday, February 16, at 10:00 am, followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be held at 1:00 pm at Tallahassee National Cemetery following the reception. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ECHO of Tallahassee at Echotlh.org, or a charity of your choice.
