Joel Henry Foy

Joel Henry Foy (62), passed away on February 16, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, electrician, and business owner. Born in Tallahassee, he was the youngest of six children of Harold and Mable Foy. Joel graduated from Godby High School in 1981. Joel met his wife, MaryAnn, in 1986 and they married in 1989. Joel and MaryAnn had two children and would have celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in November of 2026. Since 2000, Joel has cared for and served his community through his electrical business. In recent years, Joel fostered his passions for leadership and education as he taught a new generation of electricians at Tallahassee State College. Joel was a man of faith who exemplified his morals and standards in his actions. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Humble and generous, he never asked for any sort of recognition for the love and work he poured into those around him. Joel is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; his two children, Shelby Foy Ira (Justin), and Austin Foy (Amber); two grandchildren, Skylar and Shane Foy; his sister, Karen Albritton (Keith); his brother, Walter Foy (Jane); sister-in-law, Janet Foy; as well as an abundance of loving nieces and nephews. Joel is preceded in death by his brother Alan Foy; his nephew, Jonathan Foy; his brother, Hal Foy (and Hal’s wife, Margaret); and his sister, Beth Foy.
