Kevin William Bell

Kevin W. Bell of Tallahassee, FL passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, after suffering a courageous battle with a Neurological disease for several years. Kevin was surrounded by his beloved wife and sons when he passed. Kevin was born in Keene, New Hampshire on February 15, 1956. Soon after his birth he moved to Fairlee, VT to live near his grandparents. In 1975 Kevin joined the United States Air Force. After serving four years of Active Duty, he continued his Air Force career as an Air Force Reserve Technician at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. In 1985 Kevin moved to Tallahassee, Florida after accepting a position at Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Thomasville, GA. He remained at FEMA for 34 years and retired in January 2019 as the Mobile Emergency Response Support Chief for the Southeast Region. Kevin was not a stranger to the racquetball court, basketball court or softball field. He loved sports of all kinds and was an avid Florida State and Jacksonville Jaguar fan. He was one of the first in line to get a membership at Premier Fitness Center and could be found there working out every day. Kevin loved watching his sons on the baseball and soccer fields. He loved attending all games his sons participated in and did some coaching in the boys early years. He enjoyed traveling and attending the travel teams games, high school games, Allstar teams and college games. Kevin was a great father and loving husband. He enjoyed spending time relaxing at St. George Island or just chilling by the pool. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife Jan and his two sons Sean Bell of Tallahassee, FL and Brad Bell of St. Petersburg, FL. He is predeceased by his mother, Barbara Smith, Stepfather, Russell Smith and sister Sharon Bell of Fairlee, VT. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Tallahassee National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the PD Trailblazers of Sweat Therapy Fitness 501c3, a Parkinson's exercise program that Kevin has enjoyed and participated in for the last several years.
