Larry Daniel Mann

Larry D. Mann, age 65, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away Tuesday January 9, 2024, following a brief illness. His loss is completely unexpected, and his family is profoundly saddened. After Larry graduated from Ruskin High School in 1976, he proudly graduated from the University of Kansas. Larry then spent 35 years dressing his best to take care of his residents as a beloved healthcare administrator. He thoroughly enjoyed his last assignment with Pruitt Health. Larry is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Myrl Mann, and his sister Sharon Boswell. He is survived by Lynda, his loving wife of fifteen years; his sister Debbie Strom (Dan), Independence, MO; four children, Kaitlin Nelson (Lyle), New Cambria, KS; Rachel Darby (Brandon), Olathe, KS; Kyle Mann (Ashley), Hampstead, NC; and Meredith Mann, Louisburg, KS; three step-daughters, Ashley Harvey (Steven), Jacksonville, FL, Lyndsey Gammon (Ryan), St. Augustine, FL, and Whitney Hobbs, St. Pete, FL, nine grandchildren, Grace McCoy, Caroline Mann, Nora Mann, Carter Gammon, Ella Nelson, Clare Nelson, Lucas Gammon, Adaline Nelson, Jackson Gammon and one on the way, Hadley Harvey, one niece, Debby Williamson (Mike); one nephew, Ben Overholser (Kelly); and several cousins and great nieces and nephews. Larry’s departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound to all who knew him. Larry had an enormous heart, wonderful sense of humor, and was a true man of faith. He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his friends and family. He truly cared for each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. Larry was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. You could either catch him on the golf course, hear him cheering “Rock Chalk Jayhawk,” or watching his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. His love story with his wife was one for the books. They shared many adventures together. Whether it was traveling to Kansas to visit the kids or going up and down i10 to see the girls, he was always driving his Ms. Daisy wherever they wanted to go. The love he had for his four children was so deep and unconditional that when they came to mind, he always had happy tears in his eyes. He loved talking and getting updates from them weekly. He loved to talk about his six granddaughters and three grandsons. The accomplishments Granddaughter Number One had made, made him so proud that he gushed with joy. He so looked forward to seeing what the other grandchildren had in their futures, and we know he will be watching from Heaven. A celebration of Larry’s wonderful life will be held on February 17, 2024, at 10AM at Bevis Funeral Home.
