Linda Hill Jordan, 83, of Tallahassee, passed away on July 29, 2021 at Tapestry-Lakeshore under their care and that of Big Bend Hospice. She is survived by her daughter Pam Jordan Anderson, son-in-law Paul, and her grandchildren Jordan (Jessica), Elizabeth, Sarah Michael, and Katherine; her sister Mary Hill Roberts, nephews Clay Roberts (Trelles D’Alemberte), Wes Roberts (Lori), great nephews Jake, Jackson, and Wilson; her brother David Hill; cousins Ann Hill Albritton and Nancy Hill Roberts; Pam’s uncles and aunts Dot Ragans, Jo Gaylon Barfield, Johnny and Barbie Jordan, Kay Livings, Jan and Russ Sykes; and 11 “Jordan” cousins. Special family friends include Elizabeth’s boyfriend, Andrew Pitts, Katherine’s boyfriend, Davis Johnson, and Annette Blackwelder. Linda was born on May 26, 1938 in Savannah, Georgia. Her family moved to Tallahassee in 1952. She graduated from Leon High School in 1956 and Florida State University in 1960. She had a lengthy career with the Florida Department of Education and the Leon County School system until her retirement in 1993. She was an active member of Advent Episcopal Church from 1960 to 1993, Grace-Calvary, Clarkesville, GA until 2016, and St. John’s Church until her death. Linda was preceded in death by her parents James and Gussie Hill, Pam’s father Bobby Jordan, Bobby’s parents Robert and Myrtice Jordan, and her brothers-in-law, Charles Ragans and Terry Barfield. The family invites you to attend a service to celebrate her life at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Tallahassee, at 10 AM on Saturday, August 7, 2021. A reception will follow in St. John’s Alfriend Hall. Masks are required during the service and are encouraged during the reception. The service will be streamed live on the church website (saint-john.org/jordanfuneral/) for those unable to attend in person.
