"The Man. The Myth. The Legend." Luther (Kit) C. Tucker Jr left his earthly tether on Feb 8, 2019. Before his departure, he informed us that he would be leaving to attend a grand party hosted by all his family who preceded him in death, especially his father, Senator Luther C Tucker, his mother, Grace Maxine Spears, and his sister, Janice Agatha Tucker. Left behind, and awaiting a joyous reunion are his beautiful Native Hawaiian wife of 66 years Emmanell Nani Vieira, his 7 children Luther C Tucker III and wife Anne Francois, Robert Thomas Tucker and wife Susan Montgomery, Grace Nani Urie and husband Boyd Urie, Lowell Kyle Tucker and wife ReithAnne Schuenke, Brett Rice Tucker, Elizabeth Keakealani Wilson and husband Michael Wilson, Janice Nalani Tucker-Dixon, his 33 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, his brother Donald L Tucker and wife Joan, his brother Stanford Bradley Tucker and wife Marsha Spears, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends. Born March 24, 1933 in Tallahassee, FL, he was raised in Wakulla and Leon counties. He instilled in his family a love and appreciation for the natural wonders of our local area. A 7th generation Floridian, he raised his family to appreciate being Southern; to love God and your family, to respect your elders, to always be inclusive of others, to be forgiving of yourself and everyone, that compassion is always required, and that life should be lived loudly and joyously. Known within the family as "Papa Kit", he was a poet, a singer of songs, and a teller of tales. His imaginative stories and music will live forever in the lives of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed for generations to come. Papa Kit taught us how to spin a yarn, enjoy a great joke, sing a song with passion. He encouraged us to give it our all and never stop trying. The family will receive friends Friday, February 15, from 5-7 PM at Bevis Funeral Home, located at 200 John Knox Rd., Tallahassee FL 32303. Funeral services will be held February 16 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 312 Stadium Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32304, which he helped build. Burial will follow at the Crawfordville Cemetery, 2984 Crawfordville, FL 32327, with full Military Honors. Afterwards, we invite any and all to join the family for a Potluck luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3251 Crawfordville highway, Crawfordville, FL where we will regale and comfort each other with memories, stories and songs about our beloved Papa Kit. For those unable to attend, and in the words of Papa Kit we say, "Remember what I always say: Goodbye. And Let the Good Times Roll!" Aloha Papa - you will be greatly missed!
