Patricia A. Beall

Patricia Alyne Beall, daughter of Ms. Walli Beall and Dr. Louis Beall was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 29, 1960. Her life journey brought her to Tallahassee, Florida at age two and her smile and blonde curls never met a stranger. At a young age she loved the artistic design of interiors which showed itself when she proudly insisted every visitor to the home go to see her room. Years later she obtained a BS in Interior Design from FSU. When her brother Wallace was born, she became so proficient at interpreting his babble that the family thought she might become multilingual. A semester spent in Florence, Italy, however showed her not to be a language enthusiast but rather a devotee of art. This interest, in time, lead to her having a career in art restoration in Marietta, GA for a number of years and later owning an art studio in the Hendersonville and Flat Rock, NC area that dealt in Soviet era paintings from Russia. She later taught classes in acrylic pour painting in Tallahassee. Tricia’s high school education was completed at Darlington School in Rome, GA and her earliest college degree was in Communication from Mercer University. An avid reader, and a gifted writer, she was close to completing her first novel when the five-year struggle with lung Cancer bested even her valiant will. She had a wicked sense of humor and the cancer journey was posted on Facebook in a way that brought laughs not tears to her friends. Patricia’s humor, intellect and abundant love colored her days and enriched the lives of all who knew her. Two nephews, Alex and Zack Beall, born and living in Phoenix were much beloved. During their childhood a trip to Camp Trish in NC provided happy times and memories for the boys as well as Aunt Tricia. One of her most treasured times came about in 2001 when she signed up to become a mentor/mom to 4 young ‘Lost Boys of Sudan’. It was her goal to teach them the ways of America: learning to grocery shop, to use electricity, to cook, to drive, to find a job, and above all to enjoy the freedoms of the US. She gained much and gave much in the years they were together. Victor Deng of Atlanta remains a close son. A thirst for adventure and travel took Tricia to many places both in the states and abroad. She especially loved the return home which usually meant a newly acquired painting or artisan creation that had spoken to her would become part of her personal landscape. Her fun-loving nature made her the consummate hostess. Thus, to mark the blessing of reaching a 5 year anniversary with cancer in abeyance and her 62nd birthday she held a party for friends to celebrate. Thankful to everyone who had supported her during her illness, she made certain that Sangria and Tapas were on tap to show her appreciation. Her devotion and her generosity were two special traits of this caring woman. Preceding Patricia in death were her grandparents Wallace and Hettye Harper of Demopolis AL, Marietta (Tot) Beall of Tallahassee and Louis H. Beall, Sr. of Dallas as well as her aunt, Pat Hinson of Demopolis. A celebration of her life will be held at the Carriage House of Goodwood Museum & Gardens on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
