Paul Edward Meadows

On October 1, 2019, Paul Edward Meadows, age 75, left his earthly body to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Paul Edward Meadows was born on January 24, 1944 in Beckley, West Virginia to Rufus Darrh Meadows and Naomi Ama Foley. He graduated from Williston High School in 1961 then went on to graduate from Central Florida Junior College. Paul married Kathryn Ann Miller at Crab Orchard Baptist Church, Crab Orchard, West Virginia on April 9, 1965. Upon graduation Paul went to work for United States Geological Survey for thirty-seven years. Paul served in the Army Reserves from January 25,1967 until March 6, 1972 as a Sergeant in the Military Police. Paul didn’t stay retired long, before he started working on a farm in Williston for his brother-in-law. Paul then started working on Dixie Plantation in Monticello for twelve years. He then pursued a career with Fish and Wildlife until Paul decided to spend some time at home with his wife. In his free time, Paul loved to hunt both deer and turkey, work in the yard, cheer on the Florida Gators in all sports, and attend church. Paul adored his wife, children and grandchildren. Paul never met a stranger and loved to make others smile through jokes and stories. Paul and Kathy had two children, Paula Ann Schulz (Paul) and Brian Wesley Meadows (Jennifer). Paul was blessed with eight grandchildren, Cody (Kelsie) Stephens, Kelly Stephens, Kristen (Dylan) Hunter, Reid, Hunter, Lilleigh Meadows, Paul Andrew (Morgan) and Matt (Meghan) Schulz. He was even further blessed with three great grandchildren, Bryson and Ruby Stephens and Lee Schulz. His grandchildren called Paul, Papa. Paul has a brother-in-law who helped raise him, Frank Bullock, numerous nephews (spouses), and nieces (spouses) and cousins that he loved dearly. His parents Rufus and Ama, and five sisters Maxine, Jacqueline, Betty, Mary Jean and Virginia Darrh and brother Bobby predeceased him. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Thomasville Road Baptist Church.
