Peggy Lucille Nelson Rogers

Peggy L. Rogers, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 16, 2023. She was born on April 13, 1938, to the late Howard C. and Florence L. Nelson. Peggy married Buddy on August 31, 1957, and they were blessed with two daughters and one son (her favorite). Peggy was a proud military wife who supported her husband's career in the U.S. Army. Their family moved all over the country and even lived in Iran for a period of time during Buddy’s service. She was a giving woman who loved her family and enjoyed playing bridge, UNO, Skip Bo, Scrabble, doing crosswords, cooking, quilting, cross-stitching, and being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is lovingly survived by her husband, two daughters, one son (her favorite), 3 granddaughters, 1 step granddaughter, 1 grandson (her 2nd favorite), 1 step grandson, 6 great-grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother-in-law, two sister-in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her mother and father, Peggy was preceded in death by her two twin brothers and one sister-in-law. A celebration of life service for Peggy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Celebration Baptist Church, 3300 Shamrock St. E., Tallahassee, FL 32309. A graveside service for the family will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023. Thank you to the staff at Big Bend Hospice for the care and compassion provided to Peggy and her family. Thank you to Elsie for your help and assistance with Peggy’s caregiving. Today's loss is deep. There will be a vast emptiness where our talks will be missed: our laughs, our reflections on life, the past, kids, marriage, being a military family, politics, our card games, your cooking, and, of course, cheering on the Noles. Where the emptiness sits, your love remains. You gave us all enough to last forever. We will always feel your love in all the moments you've found joy in that are yet to come.
