Ronald David Harrell

Ronald David Harrell, 72, of Monticello, FL, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 3720 Capital Circle SE, Tallahassee, FL, with Rev. Betsy Ouellette Zierden officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00a.m., prior to the service, at the church. Private interment will be held at Tallahassee National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to From Grace to Glory International Ministries, P.O. Box 23, Lloyd, FL 32337. Ron was born June 16, 1943, in San Diego, CA, the son of Loring Candler Harrell and Lucille Dorolis Lynn Harrell. He was a graduate of Leon High School, Class of 1962. Ron was a Sergeant E-5 in the United States Army, 901st Intelligence Corps Detachment. After attending college, he was an instructor at Lively Technical Center, in cabinet and furniture making. He was Teacher of the Year in 2005. Upon retirement, Cathy and Ron established From Grace to Glory International Ministries, Inc. They traveled to East Africa and several other countries for many years to support indigenous pastors. Ron was a founding member of Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, where he served as prayer leader. He was a trained prayer minister with Tallahassee Healing Prayer Ministries, Inc. Survivors include his wife of thirty-nine years, Cathy Clark Harrell; his daughter, Leah Harrell Evanson and her husband, Brian, and their children, Carmen, Morgan, Garrett, and Caleb of Tallahassee, FL; his son, Benjamin Harrell and his wife, Bridget, and their daughter Callahan Kate of Climax, GA; his niece and nephews, Teri Yankee and her husband, Brian, Steve Ensley and his wife, Deb, and Michael Porter, all of Tallahassee, FL; several cousins, including Dorothy Nickoley of Iron City, GA, Martha Register and her husband, Ashley, of Donalsonville, GA and Doug Coleman of Tallahassee, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Lorrie Laverne Ensley and Wyoline “Lee” Porter.
