Simone Ileane Stahl

Simone Ileane Stahl, 85, passed away peacefully in Tallahassee, Florida, on January 16th, 2025, spending her last days surrounded by her four children. Born in New York, our mother was a longtime resident of South Florida. Known for her vibrant social nature, she found joy in playing bingo, bridge, scrabble and cards, as well as indulging in her love of shopping. She had a gift for forming meaningful connections and was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and loved ones. She volunteered her time as condominium President for several years and fostered several cats. She had a keen eye for interior design, was a real estate agent and was very proud of managing Doctor’s offices over the years. Mom had a vivacious, infectious personality and liked to socialize with her friends. However, by the time she was 32 she had four children. Not long after that she was single and on her own. Loaded with a high school education and very little outside support, she went about the process of transforming her life. It was the early 70’s, and there wasn’t a role model to show a single mother how to be head of household, raise four children, find a job and work full time - she was a bit of a trailblazer. Raising us as a single mother was no simple feat. Left to our own devices, we could have easily chosen the wrong path. We were lucky - our mom guided us with a perfectly calibrated mix of freedom and support - allowing us to learn from our mistakes without being forever tethered to them. When the time came for her to say goodbye, all four of us were able to be by her side - to hold her hand, to stroke her hair - allowing us to provide her with a perfectly calibrated mix of freedom and support as she passed. You will be very missed. Simone is survived by her children: Lauren Perlman (Colleen Fahey), Marc Perlman (Nancy Perlman), Keith Perlman (Anne Perlman), and Brandon Stahl. Simone also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Jenna Van Aman (Grant Van Aman), Cooper Perlman, Kyler Maxwell, Hannah Stahl, and Dylan Stahl, and her kitties PeeWee and Peanut. Simone’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. One of her last wishes was to donate her body to medical science. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
