Timothy Lanier Deaton

Timothy Lanier Deaton, 78, of Tallahassee went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 16, 2022. He was born in Lakeland, Florida on September 1, 1943. Tim moved to Tallahassee in 1982 after accepting a transfer with the National Cash Register Company. After several years, he made the decision to go into business for himself. Tim enjoyed anything that involved working with his hands. He was a jack of all trades. There was nothing that he could not fix. Tim loved his family and enjoyed sharing pictures of his grandchildren. He also took great pride in creating several pieces of furniture in his woodshop. More recently, he liked hanging out with his breakfast buddies at the Country Kitchen. Tim was an active member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Quincy, Florida and had lately been attending Morningside Church in Tallahassee with his family. He was also very fond of his two fur babies, Rosie and Bear. Tim will be missed, however, we rejoice that we will see him again. Tim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Lynn Deaton and parents Charles and Leola Deaton. He is survived by his daughter Carrie Pafford (Jamie) of Crawfordville; son, Steve Deaton (Crystal) of Tallahassee; sister, Suzanne Moody, of Englewood, Florida; grandchildren, Peyton Pafford and Lola Deaton and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 20, 11:00 am, at Morningside Church in Tallahassee with a luncheon immediately following where family will receive friends. The family will have a private interment after lunch at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
