Tina Fleming Campbell

Tina Fleming Campbell was born on January 27, 1955, in Pensacola, Florida. She peacefully entered her eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, the 19th of March, in the year of our Lord, two thousand twenty-six. Tina lived a life defined by an unwavering devotion to her family and a profound commitment to the soul of her community. After moving to Tallahassee in 1988, she became an integral part of the city's fabric, touching the lives of thousands through her leadership and service. She enriched the community as President of the Tallahassee Ballet, Inaugural Chairwoman of the Southern Shakespeare Festival, a Trustee for the Governor's Mansion Foundation, Executive Committee for the Junior League, and Executive Director of Leadership Tallahassee (Class VIII). A fierce advocate for literacy and education, she served three terms on the Advisory Board of the Leroy Collins Leon County Public Library and led the Friends of the Library as President, during which she chaired the celebrated Author Dinners. Through her work as the Executive Director of the Florida Economic Development Council and Director of Sports Marketing, she brought growth and prestige to the Tallahassee Capital Area, securing its facilities for the training of the Great Britain Olympic Team and the Special Olympics for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, and directing the official visit of HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, to Tallahassee. As a founding member of St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral, she was among the faithful group that envisioned and established the parish in its earliest days. She believed that hospitality was not merely a service, but a powerful tool for building the Kingdom of God—a conviction that transformed every community she touched into a vibrant, welcoming home. While she took great pride in seeing the cathedral become a landmark of faith, her greatest contribution was inviting the community to join in the life of the church and find their place within it. From establishing the New Member Ministry to cultivate a vibrant, welcoming and growing parish home, to founding the Annual Women's Retreat, providing a treasured space for reflection and connection, to bringing to life the landmark community tradition of the English Fayre, she poured her creativity and heart into every gathering, seeking out those standing on the edges to bring them into a sanctuary of belonging she helped build from its very foundation. To Tina, excellence was an act of worship. Mirroring the humility of Christ washing the feet of his disciples, Tina saw the preparation of a space, from the crispness of a linen to the warmth of a greeting, as a sacred service that dignified the soul and welcomed every guest, newcomer, and volunteer. In today's isolated digital world, Tina instead championed a "human connection revival" rooted in real interaction. Her life followed a simple, beautiful path: that hospitality leads to belonging, belonging to connection, and connection to service, ultimately reflecting the Glory of God. Her legacy lives on in the countless individuals she stirred to recognize their own unique gifts - volunteers who became leaders and strangers who became family because she saw their potential and refused to let them stay hidden. Her adventurous spirit was shaped by a lifelong love of travel. Having lived in England and France, she traveled the world extensively, holding a particular affection for the history and beauty of London and Paris. Yet, she remained deeply tied to her multi-generational Florida roots, finding great peace and joy at the beach. As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Tina brought out the best in everyone. Her life was a constant invitation to belong; she could meet a stranger in the morning and have them seated at her dinner table by evening. She made every day magical, ensuring those she loved felt truly celebrated and that every tradition felt like a beloved homecoming. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Christopher Campbell, and the family she considered her greatest achievement: her son, Barrett Campbell, and his wife, Hilary; her son, Fleming Campbell, and his fiancée, Tizzy Brown; her daughter, Caroline Kinnaird, and her husband, Darren; her cherished grandchildren, Duncan, Caldwell, and Jack; and a large and loving extended family. A service celebrating her life and the hope of the Resurrection will be held on March 27th at 2 pm at St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral, Tallahassee, Florida. At Tina's specific request, the family asks that guests forgo traditional black mourning attire; instead, please join them in wearing shades of blue and white in joyful celebration of her vibrant spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made toward naming the new Parish Hall at St. Peter's in Tina's honor, a lasting tribute to her ministry of hospitality and the light she brought into the world.
