William Jackson "Bill" Tully II

William Jackson Tully II, passed away peacefully in Tallahassee with family by his side on July 17, 2024. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Jackson Tully Sr. & Anna Mary Hughes, and brother, Michael Franklin. He is survived by his sons Jack Tully III William Jackson Tully III, (Corinna) and Robert Tully (Alison), their mother, Kathy Whiddon Tully, his beloved grandchildren, Britton and James, his stepmother, Sue Tully, sisters Melinda Tully (Ricardo Blood), Maribeth Alte (Greg), Laura Tully, Jan Tully-Cochran (Jeff), and Michele Franklin Hood, brothers Matthew & Mark Franklin, and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Greensburg, PA on July 17, 1948, and spent his childhood between Greensburg and Tallahassee. After graduating from Greensburg High School in 1966, Bill made his way back to Tallahassee, his true home. As a youth, Bill attended Westminster Presbyterian Church and was later a charter member and deacon at Wildwood Presbyterian Church. In his younger years, Bill was an enthusiastic sportsman who passed on his love for hunting and fishing to his sons. They spent many seasons together at Smith Creek Hunting Camp, along with his dad, Jack Tully Sr., and many lifelong friends. He was a proud member of both Ducks Unlimited and the NRA. Not only did Bill teach his boys about the outdoors, he also spent many years in a dugout coaching his boys’ baseball teams, or cheering them on from the stands in whatever sport they were playing at the time. He rarely, if ever, missed any of his boys’ sporting events. Additionally, Bill was a great cook who had a knack for just “throwing something together” and it was always delicious! He was also a voracious reader! Bill truly enjoyed being around his family and friends and having a good time. In the Tully tradition, Bill was an avid Florida State football fan and spent many Saturdays at Doak Campbell Stadium! Go Noles! A celebration of life will be held in Bill’s honor on August 17, 2024, 2:00-4:00 p.m., at his sister Laura’s house, 316 East Tharpe Street (casual attire). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center. Susie Mozolic of Bevis Funeral Home is assisting the Tully family with their arrangements.
