Arthur Valine Varnadore, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Arthur Valine Varnadore, Jr., age 58, passed away far too soon on July 10, 2022. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to parents Arthur Valine Varnadore, Sr. and Judith Ray Hankins Varnadore on May 13, 1964. Art, as he was called by his friends and family, resided in Tallahassee for over 30 years. Art worked for the Department of State as a telecommunications specialist where he made countless friendships and met the love of his life, Rose Ann. Together, he and Rosie (as Art liked to call her) raised their blended family and attended boundless extracurricular activities for their children. Art constantly demonstrated his dedication, love, and support to his family. Whether it was attending piano and dance recitals, assisting the athletic boosters with fundraisers, or simply standing on the sideline, his children knew he was always there. Art instilled hard work and persistence in his children, insisting they follow their dreams. He and Rosie spent limitless hours serving during sporting events at Levy & Messer fields, following behind the Florida High school bus to away games and traveling hundreds of miles to watch their sons play in college football games. Art considered his greatest accomplishment that his children completed college and are now successful in their chosen careers. He was remembered as a proud American as well as a staunch supporter of all law enforcement, first responders, military members, and veterans alike. Art enjoyed good food, spending time with his family and friends, gardening, appreciating nature and he adored his dog, Sandi. Art was known to never leave a room without saying “I love you” with a hug and a firm handshake. A few years ago, at a family gathering, a picture on the wall with a quote caught his attention – “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” by Abraham Lincoln – when asked why he was staring at the picture, he simply stated “that is spot on and I feel that every day” (of course with a colorful word or two added) – this is truly how Art lived life. He never ran away from death, but rather always ran toward life. Those that knew him, knew this. Survivors include his loving wife, Rose Ann Varnadore; his father, Arthur Valine Varnadore, Sr. (Betty); children Chase (Dorian), Corey (Hannah), Leigha (Richard), Chenoa (Zack), and Lauren; sister Melony; grandchildren Mason, Camryn, Samuel, Ellie, Kira and Sachi as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2014, Judith Ray Varnadore. A celebration of his life will be planned for October 10, 2022.
