Dennis “Opa” Thompson, a proud veteran of the Florida Army National Guard, passed away on May 18th, 2022, at the age of 94. He was born in Miami, Florida, and lived in Florida all of his life. He was predeceased by his father and mother, his siblings, and his much beloved wife of 72 years, Mary. Always a man of service, he was a funeral director and served in Vietnam. He loved the Lord and assisted many mission organizations, especially after retirement. Dennis is survived by his children, Sid and Suzy Webb, Chet and Terry Thompson; and eight grandchildren, Drew and Betsy Thompson, Adam and Summer Ploegman, Wade and Felicia Thompson, Levi and Cory Rusch; and four great-grandchildren, Everet , Evangelyn, Asher, and Caleb Thompson. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday June 2, 2022, at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311.
