Jeffrey Allen Burt

April 5, 1959 - November 3, 2021

Jeffrey Allen Burt, affectionately known as “Jeff,” passed away unexpectedly on November 3, 2021 in Hayneville, Alabama while traveling for work. He was born on April 5, 1959 in Dunedin, Florida to parents Betty Leila and Jesse Wright Burt. At 5 years old, Jeff and his family moved to Tallahassee, Florida. He was a graduate of Leon High School’s class of 1978 before becoming a student at Tallahassee Community College. Jeff later served in the U.S. Navy and realized he loved traveling. He visited several foreign countries, and enjoyed seeking out the local cuisine and landmarks of each. He would gladly tell about either the unique food or beautiful sights. Jeff eventually became a truck driver, earning a living while enjoying the beautiful sights across America. He was always on the lookout for something unique. He loved cars and would often attend races. Jeff excelled at playing the guitar, and he was a talented artist who won a statewide art competition, outranking thousands of other entries from across Florida. Jeff is survived by his mother and step-father, Betty “Leila” Golden and Jack Golden; siblings Royce Burt (Sheila) and Elizabeth Burt; niece and nephew Delaney Burt and Jesse Burt; and aunt Rosalind Cornelison.
