Jerry Wayne Watson

Jerry Wayne Watson, age 78 entered into rest December 10, 2020 at TMH. He was born in Tallahassee, Florida to Elgin Bertis and Ina Chester Watson of Woodville, Florida. He was a 1962 graduate of Leon high School. Jerry served in the United States Army Signal Corps in Germany. He was employed by the Leon County School Board, Carpenter shop, for 36 years. Jerry loved the Woodville First Baptist Church family where he served as a deacon for many years. He also enjoyed being a member of Capital City Carvers and the Monday morning breakfast group called the “Elders”. In addition to his parent’s Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Mary Watson Wright; brothers Thomas “Buddy” Watson, Don Watson, and Edward Watson. Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Johnston; his brothers Billy Watson (Carolynn), Maurice Watson (Mary); sisters-in-law Sara Carol Watson and Sharon Watson Ryan; mother-in-law Lucille Johnston, sisters-in-law Virginia Lewis (Harold), Barbara Coleman (David), brother-in-law Ralph Johnston and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services for the family will be held at Tallahassee National Cemetery, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 11:00 AM. Todd Wahlquist with Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193, www.bevisfh.com) is assisting the Watson family with their arrangements.
