Jimmie Palmer McLeod

Jimmie Palmer McLeod passed away on November 18, 2020 in Tallahassee, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Mcleod, Sr. She is survived by three sons; Joseph E. McLeod, Jr and wife, Angela of Tallahassee, Phillip C. McLeod and wife, Tatiana of Panama City, and Timothy P. McLeod and wife, Robin of Trinity, FL, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. McLeod was born in Meigs, Georgia on August 3, 1926 to Curtis and Lota Palmer. At an early age, the family moved to Havana, Florida. where she lived until the age of twelve. The Palmers then relocated to Port St. Joe, Florida. After graduating from Port St. Joe High School in 1945, she attended Massey Business College in Jacksonville, Fl. While there, she was recruited by the St. Joe Paper Company as an executive secretary. There she met her future husband. Later, she was employed by the A & N Railroad from which she retired. She was an active member of Long Avenue Baptist Church. Upon retiring, she moved to Panama City, Fl. There she became a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church. Her final years were spent in Tallahassee, Fl. A graveside service will be held at the Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe on November 30th at 11:00 EST. Pastor Eli Prine, of Long Avenue Baptist Church will officiate. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, 2041 N. Forest Drive, Tallahassee, Fl 32303.
