Jimmy John Allen

Jimmy J. Allen of Carrabelle, Florida passed away peacefully, December 18, 2021, with family by his side. Jimmy was born in Carrabelle, Florida on April 9, 1933 and loved his hometown, seldom wanting to stray too far from home. He graduated from Carrabelle High School in 1953 and married Yvonne Carroll in July of the same year. He enjoyed life and enjoyed making people laugh. He had a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew him. No one, young or old, was immune from his constant teasing. He held many jobs in his life and whether he was driving a truck for Econ-Flo Flour, a bus for Florida State University or Carrabelle High School, laying block and brick to construct or rehab a home, managing a motel, selling vacuum cleaners, delivering newspapers, or teaching his trade to others, all those who worked with and around him were the beneficiaries of his presence because he made the work enjoyable. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne C. Allen, his parents Charles Leroy (Buddy) and Ada Odom Allen, and two sisters Joyce S. Thompson and Elizabeth (Doll) A. Goertz. He is survived by his brother William Michael (Mike) Allen, two sons, Charles R. (Randy) Allen (Melinda), Jimmy K. (Kim) Allen, one daughter Tricia R. Musgrove (Wayne), Eight (8) grandchildren, Fourteen (14) great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held graveside, Wednesday December 22, 2021 (11:30am) at the Evergreen Cemetery, Carrabelle, Florida.
