*****Visitation and Funeral Service have been relocated to Sopchoppy United Methodist Church (See below)****Juanita Sanders Roddenberry, life-long Sopchoppy native, died peacefully ctober 1, 2021, in the comfort of her home in Sopchoppy, FL. Born March 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Sanders and Mattie Trice Sanders of Sopchoppy, FL. She is survived by her four children, Electa Newayne Walker, James Thurman (Kimberly) Roddenberry, William Wesley Roddenberry, and Fanchon Revell; six grandchildren, Jan (Mike) Sanders, Hillary Anne Haythorn, Becton James Roddenberry, Sean Michael Cain, Brooklyn Love Roddenberry, and Makayla Jan Revell; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brooke Okleja, and Kaylee Grace Sanders; and five nephews & nieces, C.L. (Ione) Townsend Jr., Ronald (Kate) Langston, Paula Saunders, Lagran Saunders, and Jack L. (Helen) Townsend Sr.. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Roddenberry; and her three siblings, Anita Townsend, W.T. Sanders, and J.D. Saunders. Juanita graduated from Sopchoppy High School in 1945. During World War II she worked for Camp Gordon Johnston in Franklin County, helping to prepare infantry soldiers for amphibious landings on hostile shores. She later became a devoted Homemaker & Mother, helping to manage the family farm. Juanita was known in the community for her contagious laugh and comforting presence.
