Judith Wardynski “Judy” Bascom, 78, a retired local restaurant owner and caterer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, May 24, 2021, in Tallahassee, Florida. Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Robert “Jim” Bascom, who passed in September of 2002. Judy is survived by her two sons, Michael P. Bascom and Robert J. Bascom, their wives Sarah Bascom and Fawn Bascom, and her two granddaughters Maya Bascom and Kate Bascom, all of Tallahassee. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road. The service will be livestreamed via the funeral home website (https://www.bevisfh.com/obituaries/Judith-Bascom/#!/PhotosVideos). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Judith Bascom to Catholic Charities, P.O. Box 20165, Tallahassee, FL 32316. Judy, a native of Rochester, NY, moved to Tallahassee with her husband, Jim, and their sons in 1978. Jim and Judy owned and operated the Wedge & Wineglass, a fine dining restaurant in Tallahassee and later in Thomasville, Georgia, for more than twelve years. Other survivors include her sister Donna Mars, her husband Roy, and their daughters Andrea and Melissa, also of Tallahassee, as well as other great nieces and nephews and family members in New York and Florida.
