Nan grew up in Trout Creek, Michigan before moving to East Lansing, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Tallahassee. Nan attended Louisiana State University and received her licensed practical nurse diploma. As an LPN, Nan worked at the Burn Unit in New Orleans and then at the Tallahassee Convalescent Home. Nan loved listening to music, with her favorite musicians being Willie Nelson and Paul McCartney (with whom she bragged shared the same birthday). She made fun of her own singing, but that did not stop her from belting out a song that she liked. Nan remained thin her entire life, but boy she could eat and loved all you could eat buffets. She loved the Showcase Showdown on the Price is Right, and nobody was allowed to talk while she was watching it. Nan loved to laugh and could listen to stories as well as she could tell them. Nan was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and also attended D3 Church Tallahassee. She loved attending Bible school and volunteered weekly at the food banks during Covid. Nan loved Trout Creek, Michigan and planned to move back to Trout Creek this summer, but passed before she could make the move.
