Peter W. Chang

Peter W. Chang of Tallahassee, age 94, passed away at his home on January 21, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Maria, his daughter Teresa and son-in-law Bill Walker, his son Philip, and his son Thomas and daughter-in-law Laura. He was Ye-Ye to grandchildren Marissa and her husband Brandon Granger and Nicholas Chang, as well as Gong-Gong to grandchildren Cameron Walker and Tabitha Walker. The second son of the late Xing-zhai and Qi-xing Chang, he was born in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Peter was raised Buddhist but converted to Catholicism after his marriage to Maria Lin Chang in 1961. Peter earned his BA at Taiwan University and graduated with a Masters from the School of Dramatic Art and a Masters in Library Science at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC. He served as Head of the Binding Unit at Strozier Library at Florida State University for about 20 years. Peter was a prolific writer with over 200 articles in magazines and newspapers, mainly in Chinese. Peter loved anything related to water from fishing at St. George Island to swimming at an FSU pool.
