Stephen M. Docie, Jr. Passed away on July 13, 2022 at the age of 70. He was born September 6, 1951 in Haywood County, Waynesville North Carolina to Stephen M. Docie, Sr. and Lois Marilyn Owens Docie. He was the longest baby born at the hospital. He attended Military School and later moved to Tallahassee from Merritt Island, Florida. After he joined the Blind Service Association of Florida, he was licensed May 15, 2008. His first cafeteria was FDLE. He loved to talk about food and the deals on food. June of 2015, he began managing the Larson Cafeteria in the Larson Building and remained in that position until his passing. When Steve was not working, he liked going to estate sales to look for old stamps and rare paintings, as well as silver and other antiquities. Steve never met a stranger; he enjoyed meeting people wherever he was. Survivors include his loving wife Lynda Darnell Fountain; children Stephanie Krautter, Renee N. Mann, Katherleen Purvis, and Elizabeth Langford; sisters Kathryn Docie and Bardy Lynn Randolph. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. Steve was predeceased by his parents. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at Bevis Funeral Home on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Blind Service Foundation of Florida. Breanna Green of Bevis Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
