Betty L. Todd

Betty Todd, 91, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 15, 2024. Betty was the first of three children born to Joseph E. & Juanita Monticino in Miami, Florida. During her 9th grade school year, she met Cliff Todd, and they quickly became high school sweethearts. Their young romance grew into a forever love; they married in 1952 and raised their family of four daughters there in Miami. Betty’s primary calling in life was to be a wonderful homemaker. She loved to cook, bake, and decorate her home. She was an exceptional seamstress, sewing many dresses for herself and her daughters. Her love for children led her to faithfully teach Sunday School, children’s church, and 4-year-old kindergarten for many years. When Cliff retired in 1982, he and Betty moved to Tallahassee and built a beautiful new home. Together, they traveled and camped all over the United States. Visiting family and special friends across the Southeast was always a priority for them. Later, they expanded their travels to several countries around the world, including a mission trip to South Africa when Betty was in her late 70s. Cliff and Betty remained hand-holding, smooching lovebirds all the way to “till death do us part.” She dearly loved her family and she set a wonderful example of a faithful wife and mother to her girls. She delighted in watching her family grow and proudly supported each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is remembered as a Godly lady, faithful to her Lord and her church. She made many lifelong friends in the church over the years and her influence was felt across generations. Betty was preceded in death by Cliff, her beloved husband of 69 years, as well as her brothers Emory Jr and Richard, her daughter Diane, and her infant grandson, Robert. Betty is survived by daughters Yvonne (Sal) Arnaldo of Tallahassee, FL; Karen (Mike) Belk of Jacksonville, FL; Nancy (Rob) Linebarger of Alligator Point, FL; grandchildren: Paul (Laurie) Arnaldo and children Jacob and Emma of Tallahassee; Gina (Andre’) Cantrell and children Layla, Claire, and Langston of Houston, TX; Peter Belk of Tampa, FL; Andrew (Hope) Belk and children Bradley and Daniel of Jacksonville, FL; Joshua (Molly) Belk and children Samson and one coming soon of Nashville, TN; Dustin (Beth) Harmon and daughter Bristol of Harrison, TN. “Her children arise up and call her blessed…” (Proverbs 31:28) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee or Gideons International. A celebration of life will be held at Bevis Funeral Home on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 2:00PM with a reception with the family to follow.
