Christine G. Sexton

Christine (Gibson) Sexton, devoted mother and grandmother, age 73, of North Port, FL, died on Monday, November 5, 2012, at Capital Regional Medical Center, Tallahassee, FL, after an extended illness. She was born on February 9, 1939, at Colson, KY, the daughter of Charlie Gibson and Polly (Sexton) Gibson. She lived in Kentucky, and then Chicago, IL, prior to moving to Greenfield, IN in 1971, where she lived until 1984, when she moved to Venice, FL. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Point, FL and also a member of Faith Fellowship Church, in Crawfordville, FL. She graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 1977 with her degree in nursing. She went on to work in Greenfield, IN, Venice, FL, Port Charlotte, FL and Tallahassee, FL, until she retired in 1997. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, Hindman, KY. She is survived by her sons: Randy Sexton of Hazard, KY and Andy Sexton, of Sarasota, FL; daughter: Pamela Sexton (Bryan) Alyea, of Crawfordville, FL; brothers: Doug (Von) Gibson of Greenfield, In; and Joe (Mary) Gibson of Litt Carr, KY; sisters: Reba Dennis, Symolene Anderson, and Shirley (Gibson) Walker, all of Canton, OH, and Norma Jean Gibson of Greenfield, IN: and sister-in-law, Mary )Craft) Gibson, Red Fox, KY; seven grandchildren: Candace Sexton, Trish (Alyea) O’Neill, both of Greenville, IN; Tonya Alyea, Mount Olive, AL; Brandon Alyea, Leland, Alyea and Kelsey Alyea, all of Crawfordville, FL, Allison Joy Sexton of High Point, N.C., and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Lenville Sexton, Jr., Whitesburg, KY, and Ralph Anthony Bucata, North Port, FL; her father, Charlie Gibson and mother Polly (Sexton) Gibson, Colson, KY; and brothers: Chester Gibson and Lester Gibson, of Knott County, KY.
