Edith Virginia Nissley

Edith Virginia Nissley, of Tallahassee, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 9:40 AM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on September 20, 1936, in Greenwood, Delaware, she was the beloved daughter of the late Perry and Savilla Yoder. Edith professed her faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and lived a life rooted in unwavering devotion. She was a founding member of Berean Christian Fellowship, where she faithfully served alongside her husband, the late Pastor John Edwin Nissley Sr., whom she married on July 28, 1961. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2017. Edith's legacy is one of faith, family, and servant-hearted love. She was a cherished mother to one daughter and three sons: Juanita (Roy) Phillips, John (Penny) Nissley Jr., Daryl (Theresa) Nissley, and Steve (Karina) Nissley. She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Brian (Monica) Phillips, Amanda Phillips, Justin Nissley, Jarrod Nissley, Kristy (Justin) Vega, Steven (Mindy) Nissley Jr., Kelly Nissley, and Katelyn Nissley; and great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren: Alyra, Autumn, Amorette, Amilia, Adeline, Makayla, Lailanie, Sophia, Easton, Noah, Kolby, Kenzie, Addison, and Emilia. She was preceded in death by five siblings: Mary Wanyoike, Martin Yoder, Ella Stutzman, Arley Yoder, and Mark Yoder. She is lovingly remembered by her six surviving siblings: Earl Yoder, Beulah Headings, Alta McGhee, Robert Yoder, Joann Hursh, and David Yoder. Edith's life was a testimony of grace and quiet strength, and her impact will be felt for generations. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of thy Lord." - Matthew 25:23 The family will be receiving guests for a visitation at Berean Christian Fellowship on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Interment will be held at the Berean Christian Fellowship Cemetery following the conclusion of the funeral service.
