Jose Luis Baez Vazquez, Jr.

Jose L. Baez Jr. was born August 2, 1957 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Jose L. Baez Sr. and Irma Vazquez De Baez. Jose received his formal education from Ponce High School. After graduation he enlisted to serve in the U.S. Army for 4 years before receiving an honorable discharge. Jose went on to receive a Bachelors degree from Interamericana university in Puerto Rico and numerous other Vocational certificates to include Automotive Services Technology Auto Body and Paint Technology and Furniture repair and upholstery which he had a strong passion. After college Jose worked as a Correctional officer with the Florida Department of Corrections before joining the Federal Bureau of Prisons and working tirelessly for 20 years within the Federal Correctional institutions before reaching retirement. After retirement Jose became owner/operator of Masivo Custom Motorsports of Tallahassee, where he worked doing what he loved to do most, as an artist using his creative mind to create one of a kind custom paint jobs, something he enjoyed doing until his last days. Besides his hobbies Jose loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jose will always be remembered for his strong faith, Leadership, wisdom, creativity, trustworthiness and his care, love and passion to help others. On Sunday evening, October 24, 2021 Jose decided he wanted to be free, free from any pain and suffering and he was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior. Jose leaves to cherish his memory his wife Nilda; Mother, Irma Vazquez de Baez; Aunts, Judith Baez, Laura Vazquez; uncle John Vazquez; two sisters, Irma Hernandez (Rene), Madelyn Baez Vazquez of Ponce, Puerto Rico; two-daughters, Jomarie Tavarez (Jairo), Jennifer Cooper (Jacquavius) of Tallahassee; three-sons, Jose L. Baez III, Joel Baez, Jonathan Baez of Tallahassee; 9 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will be receiving guests for visitations at Bevis Funeral Home on both Monday, November 1, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 9:30 - 11:30 AM.
