Loretta B. Tilley

Loretta B. Tilley, 83, of Crawfordville, Florida, peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, January 17, 2016 following an extended illness. She was under the care of hospice, family and friends. She was born Loretta Ann Bresnahan on March 21, 1932 in Chillicothe, Ohio to Hugh and Frances (Clark) Bresnahan and graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1950. After attending Ohio University, she was employed by the Ross County Welfare Department. She married the late Morris E. Tilley of Welch, West Virginia on April 28, 1952 with whom she shared a life filled with love and laughter for more than 50 years. She moved to Tallahassee with her family in 1966, was the proud mother of the late Larry Joe Tilley, and was employed by James Da Holley & Co. as an accountant prior to her retirement. She leaves behind her brother, Hugh J. (Martha) Bresnahan of Grand Prairie, TX and sister, Jane (Daniel) Harness of Chillicothe, OH; several nieces and nephews and many friends especially Duane, Patricia, Zachary and Liliana Broadway of Shell Point, Florida. She was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret Bresnahan of Chillicothe, OH and Rosemary (Robert) Lawhorn of Newark, OH and brother, Thomas (Nancy) Bresnahan of Ogunquit, ME. Loretta loved visiting family and friends and with her beloved husband, travelled throughout the US and Mexico finding unique and picturesque places to dine. She was an avid and very competitive card player. She charmed everyone with her laughter and wit and will be deeply missed. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation at Bevis Funeral Home on North Monroe in Tallahassee Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Tallahassee, Florida on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. , burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made to the wonderful people who gave such expert care to Loretta in her time of need at Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida 32308-5428.
