Patricia Jo "PattyJo" Wright

Patricia Jo “PattyJo” Wright passed away peacefully and without pain and holding her husband’s hand after her seven year battle with colon cancer on January 29, 2021, at the age of 74. Pat was born in Fairmont West Virginia on October 19, 1946, and adopted by Hubert and Elinor Springston. Pat spent her young years in Fairmont but soon the family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. Pat attended college at St. Petersburg Jr. College and Jones College of Jacksonville Florida where she met her husband of fifty-two years Ron. Pat held one of the most important jobs in the world as a mother of two and a homemaker. She also worked for doctors, dentist, psychologist and as a State of Florida worker with the Department of Law Enforcement. She enjoyed her work outside the home but opted to be a great mom, housewife, and homemaker. She was the greatest wife a man could have hoped for. She would always put others needs and feelings ahead of her own. She had a very loving, caring and tender hearth for everyone. This was especially true with a group of her childhood friends whom she continued to stay in touch with from Boca Ciega High School in St. Petersburg Florida and one of her dearest friends from FDLE. All of us should be so lucky to have such relationships in our lives. She was a very loving and caring mom and grandma and loved to travel. She loved the trips to Hawaii to visit her son and his family who were in the Navy. This was also to see her first grandchild and only grandson. She also loved trips to Alaska and the Grand Canyon with some of the greats friends a person could hope for. She loved having all four of her granddaughters around her as often as possible. Pat was an adopted only child and with her health failing, she submitted a DNA sample to the Ancestry site to see if she could find out about any family health issues. All of a sudden, she found out that she was one of fourteen siblings. She was lucky enough to have some of them visit before her health prevented her from traveling and then Covid came along and then phone conversations and facetime were the method of getting to know each other. Pat is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years Ron, her two children, five grandchildren, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephew, grandnieces, grandnephew and many of her new found half brothers and sisters. She is predeceased by her adopted parents as well as her biological parents. There will be a ceremony at the National Cemetery in Tallahassee, Florida, for the family, close friends on February 26 at 1:00 PM. This will be videoed and available on the Bevisfh.com website.
