Robert Lewis Milligan

Robert Lewis Milligan, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. He was born in Tallahassee, Florida on April 4, 1941, to his parents William Charles and Edith Mae Todd Milligan. Robert grew up in Tallahassee but loved spending time in Quincy, his home for many years, where he lived on the family farm and helped his nearby relatives with whatever they needed. He loved the woods, fresh eggs from his chickens, and to listen to the rain on his tin roof. Once he moved back to Tallahassee, he became part of a family full of kids and grandkids whom he loved, and they loved him back. His son, Cary, joined this new family and lived with them from the age of twelve. Cary started a successful business as an adult and took his dad on fun and adventurous trips in many parts of the world. Robert also became active in his church, Towne East Baptist Church, later in life, to the delight of his wife Betty, with his last position being treasurer. Robert also had a great love for all things Bigfoot, wrestling, his son Cary, his wife Betty, and her huge family. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his son, Cary, his brothers Harry, Dennis, Leroy and sister Nancy, nieces and nephews, as well as Betty’s children Bebe, Frankie, Scottie, Shawne, Marybeth, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles, his sister Betty, his wife Betty’s oldest son Johnny and his first wife Bette Ann, mother to Cary. Robert will be greatly missed by all who knew him as he was a kind, generous and caring soul, as well as a true southern gentleman. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Bevis Funeral Home, with the visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Gadsden County, Florida.
