Dr. William J. Blake, DDS

TALLAHASSEE - On Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023, Dr. William J. Blake, DDS, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. Bill relied on the gift of God, eternal life, for all who trust in Jesus (Rom. 3:23; 6:23). Bill trusted the Risen Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to give him forgiveness, new eternal life, acceptance as part of God's Family, and eternity with God's family in God's home. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, studied the Bible, and was part of Tallahassee Bible Church. He hopes you will read the Scriptures, trust in Jesus, and join him in God's heavenly home (John 14:1-6; 1 John 5:11-13). Bill was born June 22, 1929, in Crystal City, MO to Emory and Florine Blake. He served as a Dentist in the U.S. Air force, promoted to Captain. After Dr. Blake's Honorable Discharge, he continued Dentistry and became an Orthodontist. Bill is survived by: his wife, Margaret, of 41 years, her son, Brian Kelley (Holly), Margaret's 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson; Bill's 3 children, Michael (Linda), Rachael (Michael), and Suzanne (Gibson) from his previous marriage to Peggy Ledbetter, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Blake Kelly and his brother, Tom Blake (Pauline), 5 nephews, their wives, and their children; cousins, nephews and nieces, including Dwight Viehland (Jiefang), Rich Livingston, and Jane Dunehew; and many friends from his neighborhood, YouFit gym, Big Bend Hospice, and Tallahassee Bible Church, plus others. The family expresses their appreciation for the wonderful care Big Bend Hospice provided. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial gifts to Big Bend Hospice or Tallahassee Bible Church. A funeral service will be held at Bevis Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 12:00 pm. A committal service with military honors will follow at Tallahassee National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
