Dr. William E. "Bill" Price

William E. “Bill” Price, age 89 entered into rest November 25, 2021 surrounded by his family. Bill grew up in Miami and he attended Johns Hopkins University Medical School. Following his internship and residency he became an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. In 1969 a practice opportunity became available with a busy surgeon in Tallahassee. It is there where Bill became a pioneer in the startup of the heart surgery program at TMH. Bill was a lifelong Christian and an active member of St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral. He had a deep love for his family, friends, and faith in the Lord. Bill lived his life through the grace of God with patience, kindness, wisdom, and love. Bill was also a lifelong Pianist. He played at a young age in his church and for the Glee clubs in High School and later at Johns Hopkins. He met his wife, Anna Price, in high school when he accompanied her for concerts. Bill and Anna were avid rosarians and belonged to both the Tallahassee and Thomasville Rose Societies. Survivors include his sister Nathalie Zumwalt, daughters Bonnie Cook, Cathy Williams and husband Stephen, son Marshall Price and wife Drema; his grandchildren: Dean Williams and Jenny Williams, plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Anna Price, his sister Mildred Warren, and his grandson, Christopher Cook. His funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parish Hall.
